Some new images have surfaced which supposedly confirmed the existence of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 for the Playstation Vita. Check the images out inside!
We all knew that a Tekken game was in the works for Playstation Vita as many of the lead developers including the series creator Katsuhiro Harada have strongly hinted at it in the past, for more details and evidence please read our previous article Creator Of Tekken Hints At Tekken For The PS Vita
Tekken games have also made appearances on the PSP so a PS Vita version is axiomatically imminent. However now some images have appeared which show Tekken Tag Tournament 2 running on the PS Vita. Check them out below.
The first image is of the box art. Here you can clearly see the Tekken Tag Tournament 2 logo along with the standard blue PS Vita label.
The second image is clearly the most interesting one. The image is of the character select screen, once again showing off the tag feature (a character can be seen on the right side of Kazuya) some characters are also seen. However that is not the most interesting part. Though some of the words could be cut out it, seems the notification beside Jun "Would you like to enable NEAR?" confirms some sort of 3G connectivity as NEAR is one of the Playstation Vita's welcome Apps.

Lol jks i find it great that you guys give us the sources where you got your information, & i think the whole launch thing, would be a bit to much pressure because it comes out in the arcades first,right then ported to consoles it would be a bit weird if the handhelds got it before the bigger consumer base?

This looks like it could be fake. It doesn't make any design sense.
1. Too cluttered
2. Why would they allow portions of the title to be covered by the Rating and Namco Bandai Logo?
3. Why does text run down the side mentioning "tag" again?
4. Wtf is teh text above the title?
5. all of teh above doesn't follow previous cover designs.
This looks like a promo poster thats been shopped to include teh Vita logo.
As for the "screenshot", there is not need to have a vita displayed in the box that asks "would you like to enable NEAR?". Just seems fishy. Its as if Vita is being over emphasised on purpose.
I want a Tekken Fighting game on Vita so badly, but i don't think it will be this one.
Feel free to grill me if I'm wrong and this actually releases. :P

Well that have not been officially annonced.
Too bad handheld gaming is dying really fast. I won't buy the Vita, so this is an ultimate pass on my wish list.
The image that's used as the "boxart" in the first picture is the same one that was used as a flyer for the game when it was about to be released in Asian arcades. Something like that would be pretty easy to shop so I won't get too excited about it just yet.
Its because Namco released a statement listing all there PS Vita launch titles and Tekken was not there...
Yes, I searched up Tekken Tag flyer and a picture similar to the one above came up....so unless its just a quick mock up for sites like Amazon, it seems Tekken wont be coming anytime soon :(
Handheld gaming seems to be growing in content, MGS, Tekken, Street Fighter, COD, Uncharted, Killzone, Resistance are all going portable this generation...

Yeah, Harada has said that there are loads of Tekken games in production....And Tekken is the only Namco game that creates tons of money....but whats wrong with loads of Tekken :)

Tekken PSP easily had some of the best visuals....I think Tekken Vita will just look phenomenal...probably Tekken 6 PS3 but slightly lower res textures...

Keep in mind Tekken Hybrid only includes a TT2 demo, not full game...
They are working on multiple titles, but they are not coming out each day....TT2 is a year away, Tekken 3D is February, Hybrid is here in a week or two etc...

i ve got a ps vita and near is an app it has nothing to do with games when you playing .. near is more of an social app that lets you know what people around you are playing which means that unfortunately this is fake ... but hoping that Mr harada will announce tekken for ps vita soon doh

And I have to call total BS for 2 out of 3 things in your comment here. It's like you pulled your description of "near" from some old description of people thought "near" was gonna be like before the Vita was released. This Tekken Tag game is obviously a fake cuz here we are now 6 months into the Vita's NA life and there has been no word or mention of its exsistance.
As a Tekken and Street Fighter fan I am eagerly waiting for the Street Fighter X Tekken. And I would like to see a Tekken Vita title with some version of Tekken Force and a Tekken Tag mode. I have never played Tekken Tag, never read a review before, and instintively thought it wasn't a full entry so I never gave it a shot. Appearently I have been missing out. There has been tag modes before but again I never felt the urge to play it.
I would really like a simple port of tekken 6 from PS3 :S... Cross platform multiplayer, all the same features, better graphics then the psp... ect :S... yet it would be cool (if possible) for ps vita tekken 6 to be compatible with psp tekken 6 xD is that asking for too much>?
