Unity Game Engine Now Supports PS Vita

Popular game development engine Unity is now available for the PS Vita………..
Unity has revealed that thanks to a partnership with Sony the Unity Engine is fully compatible with the Playstation Vita.

A licensed agreement with Unity allows developers to use the engine to make use of motion sensors, front and rear cameras, dual analog sticks and the rear touch pad.

A showcase video which reveals the engines capabilities is below:

The engine will also support full Playstation Network integration such as friends and trophies. 3D and 2D games can be developed using the Unity 4.3 Engine.

Yea, dead trigger on iPhone old 4G was way cool ,I couldn't believe that was a mobile game ,it works very fine on a mobile device
I think this engine and Vita have a lot of achievements to make ,I think this engine will bring to us some cool games we always want it like Zombies survival.
It looks that this is ,truly the Vita year.

I just posted a request in MadFingers forums (Deadtrigger, DeadZone/Shadowgun, Samurai 2 to bring these games to Vita. Perhaps we should start an online petition.

Horror ones first person, raptors online is third person.

Don't really see what's so special about this... >.>

It looks like a PSV with a carbon fibre skin, I'm pretty sure alot of people can talk apart a vita and put it back together. When I saw the title thought it'd be something "custom" looking like a modded controller.

Nice. Besides FPS, we gotta get some racers. Only ones I can think of that are coming are Switch Galaxy Ultra and Table Top Racing. NFS: MW, wipEout, and Sonic & All-Stars won't cut it.

I understand that money wasn't the point of this. It is incredible that he made an entire Vita by himself and that the parts came from all over the world. It would be cool if it would cost less than buying one new though.

Reazer said...

it would have been better if he mixed and matched colors, for a real custom look. but it looks like a Vita you can buy from any store

at least i have the Silver PSO2 PSVita, which seems to be rare now.

hell my PSP was custom, it had a special blue / purple shell with white buttons. now that is something that stands out

If i saw his vita, i wouldn't say "where did you get that amazing looking vita" the only way his accomplishment / story would be told, is if he brought it up.

If you lived in Uruguay, you'd have a limit of 50 USD per package with no tax, and five 200 USD package per year with no tax.
If this guy was from Uruguay, and every part were below 50 USD, he'd be fooling this f*cking bureaucrats!

We'l try our best!

Multiplayer games? Yeh, lots, soul sacrifice, killzone, call of duty etc

Stephen Allen said...

Expect some PS Vita Unity appearances from me!
Got 7 games released on multiple platforms already, ps vita is my next target! ^_^

xEpicpwnage said...

It would be amazing if all those games would be ported to vita!

I think console makers should offer kits to build the console like how you would a pc for a cheaper price, I wouldn't do it but I know people who would love it

tkempin said...

Lol. I mean can I open up the web browser on my vita and play a game that runs off of unity? I have a vita and play soul sacrifice, killzone, wipeout and a few other games online. I suppose I could have phrased the question better.

So he Frankenstein'd a Vita that's special to him, and by special I don't mean the way he did it, but that he holds it at a higher value personally than anybody else would.

Nobody would be any the wiser if he showed it to people that didn't know, to others it's a regular Vita.

Ultrapieguy said...

Wow, that's awesome! Looks like a pain in the ass, though.

Frypo said...

Probably the same, because the details have just been taken from other psvita's

SNOWMANFLURRY said...

Does it work just like the Vita, or is it different

goob47 said...

Man, now it would be awesome to see some bigger analog sticks or maybe a better battery in the future.

Josh101 said...

I may have to watch this when I get home. How did he get the custom cpu/gpu in the Vita? I wouldn't think you could just buy those anywhere.

tkempin said...

YES. Some new, original content finally....

Shadowfire2303 said...

He wrote that in the description of the video.
"$208.41 (with shipping included)".

It's just a little more than buying it new.

13attle said...

I'm just wondering how much it took him to get all the lone parts ship them and have them sent to his home. Either way, as tiring as this all may have seemed, with any effort taken, this vita's special. To him, at least.

Hello everybody and thank you for the post!

To
begin with, my purpose wasn't to make a ps vita from scratch. I just
have been collecting parts through the year 2013, new bought from ebay
and parts that left behind from other vitas because of different mods and fixes that I used to do.
Do not ask me why I do collect parts... I just want to have them I am crazy with my portables and I want to have them in brand new condition as much as possible.

So,
one day I realised that I had many parts, counted them and saw that I
had everything needed to assemble a whole ps vita but without screen.
And thats how it started! I bought a screen from a very trusted of mine
seller from ebay and assembled it! Two weeks later, after the video was
uploaded, I bought another set of white parts to mod it (rear touch
panel, buttons,l+r,joysticks). Now its almost new, custom and
Frankenstein'd as you can say! (The one with the black carbon in the
photo)

Also,keep
in mind that the vita 1000 will soon get retracted by Sony in Europe in
order to release the new 2000 model in the market.
