The official Metacritic rating for Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation has been revealed, more details inside.......
Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation is one of the most anticipated PS Vita games and now upon its release reviewers have given their critic, and the average score for the game is 74/100
IGN praises the game for its combat but criticises its weak story:
The moves and kills you'd expect are here, but the story is boiled down to be easy to jump in and out of. That takes away some of the excitement in playing through it.Also we apologise for not reviewing the game ourselves, this was due to time constraints.
Let us know what you think of the game so far in the comments below!

Damn Ign I shall be the Judge of this!!!!
Thanks!
I just play about an hour of it and its not that bad so far. The sound seems so compressed. Other this I would like to mention too but I'm too lazy lol
I love this game. It's assassins creed in your hands. Story isn't all that bad, and the free running and parkour is awesome. High viewpoints are also in it. Love love love it. If I was to trust all the critics scores, I probably wouldn't be playing anything these days.
They gave terrible score to Gravity Rush too.. . for being hard and short or something.
Just started play it and while it clearly looks and plays like AC... completely foregoing story and engine smoothness (since i only just started) it also feels a little unpolished... the first thing that stands out is the sound which I'm not sure if it's running in mono, is overly compressed, or just poorly recorded. I don't notice anything with the hardware speakers but even with simple ear buds it seems...jaggy i guess...
The other little annoyance i've hit right off the bat is when i was walking as a slave, by carrying a box you are able to blend in (because you look like you're working), and as i walked past a group of men sawing wood i spontaneously dropped the box and joined them... (1) it seems odd that a female slave would be sawing wood and (2) i wasn't even close to it, but i got sucked in against my will. It was honestly so magnetic that i genuinely could not get away to pickup the box again, i'd just pick it up and drop it again. And flat out walking away was not an option because it would give me away to all the guards, i needed the box to stay inconspicuous. Now, i know the flag ship AC games have the same kind of hiding places and it's kind of neat that in this game you actually see her take up a task rather than just stand there, but in all the past games you're actually able to get away from them... this game assumes you're trying to jump in the hiding place if you're so much as 6 feet away from it, she just magnetically glides over to the sawhorse...
Please don't think the game is bad from what i've said. It's not. Most of what I was ranting about could be tweaked and fixed with an update. The game as a whole so far definitely feels like AC. The controls are a tad weird because of the shortage of buttons, but with practice, it will feel just like AC... My first impression might not be a 9/10 but the meta critic 74/100 sounds about right. I'm normally easy to please, so i'm sure it will get better for me with time.
can't usually fix audio with an update
it depends :) it can be tweaked, compression altered, new sounds imported over the old ones, but if the audios at times isnt great there must be another reason for it, that might not be so easily tweaked, im sure we'l hear more about it
lol hard and short
what's up with the graphics though? they look kindda like cod declassified most of the time
That's What She Said.
what's up with the laggyness too
Well if it turns out that it's entirely from bad compression, then no they can't fix it. But if it's something in the sound engine that's used to manage the audio, then there's a chance they could fix it. Granted not likely, but many games use real time audio effects to enhance the experience. If that's just missing, then they could add it.
again, entirely speculation.
What other people rate a game has no relevance whatsoever these days. everyone has their own expectations of what how a game should play or what it should all be.If you like the game, that's all that matters.
We should just be happy that we have the franchise in our hands, what does this highly commercialized release of this Assassin's Creed mean? According to Sony and Ubi Soft, it means that an another Assassin's Creed game will be released on Vita and it will be better anyways.
Which is great news for us! :D
Are you blind this game looks way better than COD declassified.
not in new orleans
I'd also like to note, that not all the audio clips are bad, just at times. Also the over all audio is still good, i'm just being picky. Let me put it like this: it's not at the same standard as Uncharted:GA was, but it's worlds better than Resistance:BS was. Anyone who's played Gravity Rush, it's about like that.
yeah, not a huge fan of laginess myself (even have problems with 30 fps games sometimes...) would be sweet if you could customize the games visuals to suit what fps you enjoy rather than having to tolerate low fps
Really enjoying the game.....My only disappointment is the frame rate continously drips and please someone explain me the multiplayer.....have been tapping away but I cannot understand anything...I joined the abstergo agents because there were too many assassins or something :P:P
Seems like IGN never has anything positive to say about any Vita game. I really don't trust their views. Gravity rush and Resistance got slaughtered by IGN but they were far, far better than what IGN claimed.
I'll be picking Assassin's Creed 3 up eventually once I can afford it, it looks exactly what the Vita needs. Hopefully it sells very well on the Vita.
Got this game last weekend, played during the "HURRICANE" and it was awesome, kept me busy and already beat it, the multiplayer feels a little strange, since you don't actually see any combats or anything, its all SIM kind of, conquering places and stuff, its different, creative but would've been better if you could actually go into it as an assassin and play it like massive multiplayer video game and being able to like use the PS VITA from cams and mics. Would've been wonderful, however the game is still indeed awesome. With all due respect IGN SUCKS.
I've played so far a bit more than half the game and I'm enjoying it so far,
My only issues are :-Frame rate can drop occasionally.
-Forced touch, motion and touchpad sequences are boring, useless and are a chore.
-The introduction is not satisfying and doesn't give much information on the character
-The 'persona' system can be annoying at times ( Ex : Playing the lady persona for a long time is boring )
- The combat isn't on par with the console game, but that's pretty excusable.
And, yeah, that's it ( so far ), might sound like a lot but the game overall is pretty amazing,I can't wait to meet Connor and play as him on my Vita, and of course complete the game and have a better overall image of it.
From what I've played, this is a very good purchase for any Vita user and is a 'must' to any AC fan, and from what 'little' I've played it's one of my favorite vita game, I don't think it's going to be the best Vita game yet ( Which I can Gravity Rush is ), but it has a definite top 3 spot in Vita library.
Can't wait to complete the game and then get my 'hands on' NFSmostwanted.
they just released an update that fixes almost everything like the sound and the frame rate a few hours ago.

You indian?
Look at ragnarok odyssey reviews... 50? IGN killed it whereas all others gave it generally positive reviews...
in my opinion a 74/100 rating is way too undervalued.
this game is at least a 85/100. i have played it and it realy impresses me!
i have seen ps3 titles that came out this year and they do not even reach this quality by far.
you can compare the graphic quality with Red Dead Redemption, but the environments have a lot more detail and atmosphere in it. the cities are large and very compact and the possibilities are almost endless. buying new outfits, weapons or search for hidden treasures and objects. it is all in this game! thereby, it think the story is original and interesting unlike other stories these days. OK!! there are a few bugs in it. but it doesn't do this game any damage at all. certainly, its nothing unfixable.
do you not have this game yet? then run to the stores to get it!!!
you have a 3ds instead? SELL IT!!! and buy a ps vita right now!!
Resident evil Revelations is shit compared to this game!!
trust me. i know!!

call of duty bod ps vta gameplay above check it out! looks good(:))
I bought this game on launch, and I think it kicks ass. Reviewers were too tough. I'm probably only two hours in, but I'd break it down as such:
-Story is pretty lame and disjointed...still have no idea why the character is doing what she is doing
-The open world is impressive.
-The free-running and controls are great
-Battle is usually super cool
-Frame rate does tend to drop at times, but it's only happened once at this point that was noticeable.
-Being certain personas really suck sometimes, and flat out aren't fun in certain moments...I'm hoping that changes.
-I don't understand the audio complaints. It's a very minor issue at most.
Overall, I feel the Vita is in a rough spot because of it's awkward place between consoles and handhelds. It's almost as if no one seems to know the appropriate bar on which to judge it. I feel it's unfair to be judged as either. Therefore, it's often unfairly judged. I really hope the console finds it's footing and game developers pull their heads out of their asses. The potential is unreal for ports of PS3 games or re-releases of games like Red Dead Redemption or GTA titles.
Bottom line is that I'm no hardcore gamer, but I'm pretty excited to pick up my Vita since I purchased AC3.
i've officially lost hope in the vita........ assassin's creed vita was a let down, gonna sell my vita and games and get a ps3, at least on ps3 i know i'm getting quality games
This game is awesome for what it is...a handheld portable, on the go game. The story allows you to get in the game quickly without knowing anything of the series and the game is addicting...reviews for portable games are always low because they are always compared to console games.
The sound has not been fixed or the framerate.
What I don't like about reading reviews in general is that they make you focus on the bad things that normally you wouldn't notice at all and that you wouldn't mind at all as well. For instance, if you reach many points in a game where you get stuck, because of the difficulty you might think it's your fault and each time you must try harder and harder until you pass that section. Now, if you read about difficulty issues in a review before reaching those parts, each time you'd fail you'd come to the conclusion that the game is somewhat broken if you get stuck in these points because x,y and z reviews pointed out how hard and frustrating the game is.
IGN gave AC3: Liberation a 6.5 score. At my own risk I read the review before getting/playing the game. Because of the review I kept looking, unaware, after all those problems they said the game has. As I did notice how it can't be as good as the other home console installments, I wasn't disappointed, because it wasn't too far from that either. And as I was trying to find all those bad things the game was supposed to have, instead of finding them, I kept unlocking more and more features of the game, each time having something new to explore, collect, buy, try. etc.. I believe they scored it so low, because they compared it with the home console installments and didn't focus on it as a separated game. Again, the same quality there is not, but for a handheld, for just a handheld, it does great. The score I was expecting was at least 8, although, this applies only if you are not new to the series and went through all the other counterparts of this amazing franchise that helped me get an A+ to a history paper without even bothering to study by looking over the notes I got during the history classes.
The game simply looks awesome, so I added it to my Blockbuster@Home queue. I got my first chance to play the demo at a co-worker’s house from DISH a few days ago and it looks good enough to play all the way through. It’s real cool to have options to play new games instead of being forced to spend the money to buy them new. I can’t afford to buy the game right now (even if it was just a little cheaper). That’s why I like Blockbuster@Home from DISH, because it’s an affordable way to play and rent games.
Exactly my thoughts! I second this!
I am having a blast with this game, while it has its fair share of problems they have never detracted from the experience. To compare this handheld game to a console game it absolutely absurd. The game is a huge technical achievement and I easily recommend it to every Vita owner. Easy 8.5/10 a really good game.
i would have loved this game to death if there would have connor rather than aveline
