Street Fighter X Tekken PS Vita producer Tomoaki Ayano reveals his thoughts on PS Vita development, and claims that PS Vita is a ver powerful machine, more details inside........
In an interview when asked about porting Street Fighter X Tekken from PS3 to PS Vita Tomoaki Ayano replied with:
Converting Street Fighter X Tekken from the PS3 to the PS Vita was a very smooth process actually.
The PS Vita is an extremely powerful piece of hardware, so it wasn't all that difficult. However, maximising the power of the system was something that really took some effort.
Ultimately, though, we were able to achieve a stable 60 frames per second, making it a true fighting game experience. Japanese people are really good at taking big things and shrinking them down.
I can promise you that the PS Vita version of Street Fighter X Tekken will satisfy everyone out there.
Let us know what you think of porting PS3 games to PS Vita in the comments below!

i call bullshit... if it were so easy they would be braging about it with other games making plans to do it for every ps3 game they got they wouldnt need side story of assassins's creed if they could have just made money by "shrinking the new one down" they could still make the 50$ out of the vita version of it. you can fool other people with the "vita is so great" speech, but i own one and it has more dust on it than my sega genesis nentindo and atari combined
dude it is easy, its just cost alot of money which developers, aren't willing to spend yet on a handheld whose future seems uncertain, that being said nothing is set in stone. Many devs have already said that it is easy to do it.

lol
Lol.............I sense a stereotype!
You still have a working Genesis and you don't play it? WTF?
I'm not touching that.
60 fps. well done
There are many other factors that you are missing.
For example, vita is pretty much limited to its 4gb cartridge, even if you shrink AC3 the entire game won't be under 4gb, they'd have to cut away half the campaigns to make it fit.
Plus it can't be a perfect copy of PS3 or Xbox, considering vita has its extra features like the touch screen attack.
yeah >.> how do you thumbs down it lol
Do you notice he says "converting" and not porting? These are 2 entirely different things my friend.
Nice.
I think you guys might be missing the fact this is a FIGHTING GAME. They would have to deal with alot less environments, coding, textures and wat not. They don't even have to make sure it runs smooth on the 3d land, only that line your fighter is forced to fight in.So it would be easier to put a straight port of then, say, Infamous.
you do realize that 4gb is the max right now sony can increase the size at any time for devs up to 16gb so it wouldn't be hard if the dev just asked sony
this ones for "Dedeogbe" your saying it cost less money to make an entire new vita game (assassins creed PSVita) then to convert a ps3 game (Assassins Creed 3)
going point but im sure it loses alot of file size going from PS3 to vita, and also i have a 32GB sd card the technology is there sony just has to make it their own. if san disk can do it im sure a big brand like sony can do it
true fighting games are small hell some of my favorite fighting games are under 200MB
yeah its hard to find stuff that looks good on my flat screen but if i want to play some genesis all i gotta do is hook up my CFW PS3 i got all the games i have cartridges of on there too, as for dream cast i seen a video about some up scalers and a dreamcast output to VGA that peaked my interest made it super clear compaired to the fuzzy of composite
lol
A 60 fps game on vita? anyway, gran turismo on psp is something like a 60 fps game and I am not surprised with the power of vita. Nice game!!!

boombox!lol
That example is a bit different. considering the vita is just starting out, it needs original games for ppl to come buy it, especially from games like Assassin's Creed, Killzone etc. It has to have a experience you cant get any where else for a example the use of the touch screen. Who the hell would pay for a device whose games can be played on a console they already own? Thus i dont think will be getting ports of those games anytime soon. At least until the vita is more stable on the market. But yeah i see your point. But u also have to look at the number of ports that have made it to the system as well i.e Disagea, Ninja Gaiden, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, PSA all Stars,Atelier Totori Plus etc.
lol i thought the same thing
This would be awesome if more games would be ported. Such as the normal Super Street Fighter 4 (AE) versions.
Fighting game has fewer elements to render than other genres'
You mean like cell phones???
I think this is highly unlikely until Sony cuts the price of memory cards and releases them with larger capacities like 64 or 128gb. Sony is really trying to push digital sales with the Vita and larger game files will make that too much of a challenge due to the limitations of current memory cards. So I think it is VERY unlikely that we will see a ton of games being developed that are larger than 4gb anytime soon.
I typically play fighters with an arcade stick but I might actually buy this one because I never had the time to play much of it on the xbox. Maybe I'll find the time to get into it on the Vita.
In relation to porting full console games to a handheld. I'm not in favour of that sort of carry on. Surely you'd just buy the console version if that was the case. I'm more interested in handheld experiences on any handheld I own. E.g. Dynasty Warriors Next is faster paced and more enjoyable for shorter sittings.
