Earth Defence Force will hit PS Vita this autumn, along with new modes, more details inside.........
The PS Vita will be receiving an adaptation of the Xbox 360 title "Earth Defense Force 2017" The game will not be a direct port and will feature a 4 player online mode.
Earth Defense Force 3 for the Vita will hit Japanese stores on September the 27th. Publisher D3 has not announced any plans for a Western release as yet.

Earth Defense Force... Hell yeah! To all of those who don't know, it is a revival of old school sci-fi horror movies but way more intense. I loved the original. And playing with my bro or another buddy was tops. Destroying hoards of gigantic spiders, swarms of bees, marching enormous robots, and taking out old school flying sacuers never gets old. All environments are completely destructable too.
so... both of these games are coming to vita?? im confused
This game will hold me up till MonsterHunter or SoulSacrifice comes out!

No, there will be a single player mode. The PS Vita version will just be revamped with new features to take advantage of the Vita's hardware, better graphics and improved animations are also a new feature. There will probly be new enemies as well. Think about it, the console versions were released 2011, they have had plenty of time to work on this one. It doesnt make much sense to release a vita version with JUST multiplayer modes.

I'm sorry MarcusGOW but I have to correct you here. Although the above screenshot is from Insect Armageddon (2011) the PS Vita game will be a port of Earth Defense Force 2017 (2006). It will come with additions: 4 player online, Pale Wing, some extra weapons. I believe the levels and enemies will be exactly the same, but of course I can't be sure about that.
