It was reported that according to Andy Payne, the Leeds studio was created to take over development of all mobile versions of the COD franchise but not for the PS Vita, more details inside............
Andy said in an interview
“Activision are like a machine. I have to be careful what I say about these guys because I know them so well and they’ll cane me”
“They’re very good, and you know what, what people don’t realize with Activision is, the two studios working on the Call of Dutyfranchise are collaborative studios. That’s unheard of. All of the assets are reusable, so they’re not wasting time.”HOWEVER they recently confirmed that they will be working on the "mobile versions", they could be referring to the smartphone version and could exclude the PS Vita version which is a potential disappointment to Call Of Duty fans.

This is pure assumption on what was said, the vita is a mobile platform you know, why would you consider iOS?? I know its mobile too but the connection is kind of wrong, besides how can you compare CoD on a full power dedicated gaming handheld (with dual sticks) to a smartphone device....such as iOS.....
There is cod zombies on ios...there is even battlefield on ios....mobile most of the time dies not refer to handheld game devices

i can't believe Nintendo and Sony Handhelds aren't considered Mobile Devices smh gaming needs to change fast. Cause dedicated gamers are called hardcore for a reason.
An FPS game on a smartphone with low graphics capabilities and that's fully touch based, no thank you I'd rather go with the PSVITA version.

Thanks Snake for spit'n' the truth like a cobra! Like it or not people the SmartPhone market is the worlds biggest gaming market. Now I do agree that the Vita deserves the better version! Hey at least COD for Vita is being made by an internal company of the games true company which is better than any one can say of Resistance! This is a step in the right direction and I will buy this game to encourage Sony to have other developers do the same!

Elron, I am a lil confused. Didn't this article say that Leeds is supporting gaming for mobile devices? So you are agreeing with their decision and support them by buying their IOS or Android games. I don't see how that will encourage Sony in any way. Last I heard, COD Vita has being made by a crack Tony Hawk / Guitar Hero developement team. They are giving the casual gamers top notch support as if they could really appretiate the difference. If this kind of trend continues you could pretty much lay your Vita down to die in peace.
Sooo what do we know about this game? I like my vita a lot and when this game comes out, I will buy it. But I wanna see progress, every article about this game is pretty much telling us that nobody knows anything

i spend about 75% of my time awake on videos games but when called "a hardcore gamer" im like? no i just play videos games, when you like something that shows weakness... i aint no girl. next they'll be all like "awe man how you feel about this game?" feel....emotions are lame
it's sad my most hated of all shooters (FPS) will probly be the game to save the vita... why did unit 13 have to suck so bad, and online PVP 8vs8 would have made it the best Vita game of all time, Resistance 4vs4 online was by far the biggest let down ive heard of yet though 4vs4?...come on isnt this thing suppose to be "as bad ass as a ps3" but my personal opinion sony's marketing of games sucks balls im not going to by a game fucking twice just so i can play it on a hand held put PS3 games on the PSN store and port that EXACT game to vita so people can download it from their PSN account yeah i'd love to get Metal gear for Vita but im not spending another 40$ on a second copy you can go fuck yourself digital downloads cost them close to FUCKING NOTHING, give me a 120GB vita memory card for 99$ i can understand that but 32GB for 99$? i can get a 32GB usb stick for 10$

dude your missing the point yeah 100 dollars is alot of money for a 32gb memory card but they are not flash drives. how much more do you think apple charges you for an 32gb ipod touch? About 100 dollars right there. flash drives are cheaper because they have been out long enough to keep demand prices low. when flash drives first came out you could expect high prices but now more people have them,thats why the prices for them are low. Psvita are propridtary memory cards meaning they are only for use on the one system, its so that no one makes hardware that can read a vita card a rip games from it. If when more people buy them then you will see the for cheap. I dont see anything wrong with 20 dollars for a 4gb as long as it keep pirates out

I still believe CoD will be a great game for the PS VITA regardless of who the developer is, thats how much faith I have in the power of the PS VITA.
On another note, just to help you guys with PS VITA NEWS/UPDATES; Borderlands 2 will be coming to PS VITA. Some rumors or speculations says it will be another CROSS-PLAY game.

I ment if Leeds makes COD for the PS Vita I'll buy it! As at least it would've been developed by an in house team! I didn't pay over 500 for my 3G Vita and games and ect..ect..ect.. day one to have it become an Atari Handheld! Hell I loved my Vita so much it made me buy a Sony Xperia Play R800a the 4G one from AT&T, and I love this phone! Hell my Vita will go before it does! It has emulators for Sega,Nes,Snes, and tons of others on top of over 300+ games of it's own! And it may not have the raw power the Vita has but it has graphics every bit as impressive. And one more thing that puts my Xperia Play over my PS Vita. It is OnLive capable. Meaning I can play Xbox 360,and PS3 games and others with it! Hell I was playing Aliens vs Preadator a few minutes before I typed this reply to you! And the most expensive games for cost what ten dollars! And it has some really good shooters like The Dead which is a zombie shooter. And a damn good one! Sony better get it in gear when it comes to the PS Vita or alot of people are going to abandon ship on this Doomed looking Vessal!
Oh yeah I forgot to mention the Xperia Play has HDMI out so that you can play games on your TV if you want. Man I love the Xperia Play! Why didn't Sony market this thing better? I learned about it from one of my other married friends. Then again Sony's going the exact same route with the Vita. When lil Sony ever learn!

Funny you should mention OnLive. Late last night I saw a video that someone posted a link for that had someone using a Vita with Ps Suite on it. And through using RemoteClient was able to bring Left 4 Dead and Super Mario 3 onto the Vita. PsSuite is an open sourced prodject and it is supposed to be coming to the US market soon. I hope this is all true cuz the result would be bad ass.
Nope...not confirmed yet. Borderlands developers are trying to encourage fans to push Sony to develop the game but this is far from a certainty.
I would hate to plug another site as this is one of the most popular vita news sites and favorite of mine. But if you must know do a search at IGN and they have an article which quotes a key developer saying he would love to bring boarderlands 2 to the Vita but the ball is in Sony's court for that decision.
I didn't say it was confirmed, I said rumors and speculations. So let me rephrase what I said, borderland might be coming to ps vita, sounds better?
Hate to burst your bubble but the Vita's memory cards are flash cards. Sony just made them to only work on the Vita. And they are over priced!

To be honest I think the Call of Duty for the Vita has already been tainted by lack of information and improper marketing, it was announced over 16 months ago and the only info regarding it has been its reeconfirmation 3 times, a logo and a listing from 3rd parties. it really does appaul to see Sony wasting huge oppurtunities such as E3 when millions were watching and they showed next to nothing of Vita. Gamescom in August is there last chance for them to make people realise Vita's potential in my eyes, unless they show another Triple A title apart from Assassin's Creed and Battle Royale, I feel PS Vita's time to get its name out there will be tick tocked away for good.
