Sony have announced a new firmware will be coming for the Playstation Vita next month, details about the update are inside........
Not much is known about the new update at the moment other than it will allow compatibility with some PSP games which do not work.
Whether the update will allow the long awaited Flash and HTML5 Video support is unknown right now, but fingers crossed for Flash and HTML5 Video support to be included in the update.

They said that there will be an update for skype and the browser soon, so this must be the update.
How about the Ps1 emulator? If this is that patch then I can't wait.
so far its nothing, it just to fix existing psp games not add new ones, i mean ones that work on vita but not yet available on psn, its confirmed it was made to make pixel junk monsters work 100% as the devs of the game bitched about it not working on vita and now they confirmed the update fixes that....
still I hope it fixes the sound issue on vita where on unit 13 losses sound and crashes or just plainly crash and with rayman origins have some sounds stop working while others continue to work... sure you can press the ps button to return to the menu and resume the game to fix rayman issue still the sound bug really needs to be fixed
if they are fixing the psp games they better fix performance in some games with slowdowns occuring, or slightly lower framerate than psp or in the case of daxter, a user claimed it was going 1/3 of the speed during videos, cutscenes and when there is allot of action...
sure updates to browser would be nice, but it super unlikely to video support, at least any time soon, and ill bet sony will ignore that the browser runs while any game is running by opening a link on twitter and still wont enable browsing while playing a game but hey you want a game guide while playing then twitter the link to it and open it while playing...
all i can say is sony is currently POS as they have a great product and early adopters are getting updates very slowly, games for the platform very slowly...
I mean what is the point spending so much marketing on Vita when the platform is way too immature and is unable to compete with iPhone and iPad in everything except in gaming and gaming suffers with the delay of releases of titles that will easily sell the system like Gravity Daze and Little Big Planet are months away and the fact there are no jrpgs over disgaea in next coming months...
also sony needs push the devs for full multiplayer support, its a joke that Uncharted and especially Modnation Racers don't have multiplayer, it clearly really hurts the sales of the games, especially Modnation Racers, I mean what were the devs thinking, did they really want the game not to sell well, do they really enjoy their games on store shelves collecting dust, I mean australia vita games are selling out, maily due to the very limited stock but that game barely sold with some shops offering $20 discount making it closer to Little Deviants price and it is still not moving
Looks like one of the thing in the update will be to extend the list of psp games compatible with the psvita.
Q-games where asked why pixeljunk monster is not compatible with the psvita and they got this answear: They are ‘enabling’ it with a firmware update in April. Stay tuned
I agree with a lot of what you say but I never had my game crash or any issues with playing games. Unit 13 is just about as I turn the bend on my first platinum trophie and nothing wrong has happened, good game though.

I hope it adds to the music and video players. The PSP has more features, which is sad. And add button controls too. I hate the touch screen for everything.
Back to the music player, it's always purple and you can't add a background like the space theme for PS3 or the others like the lightning on the PSP. Plus with the PSP you have A-B repeat the Vita does not.
The video player needs more features like A-B playback and analog stick rewinding and fast-forwarding.
what's the point with the ads still being up snake, importing is unneeded to people now

We need html5 support, fix the web browser issues and it would be really useful if they allow us to use the web browser while we are playing.
They need to add support for PSX games outside remote play. Also to be able to play psp demos. I can wait for the web browser and skype to come later. I would just like to be able to have better remote play support.

I am sure it is a simple, routine update, But I agree, if anything I want expanded remote play.
maybe its remoteplay with vital to play s3 games.

They need to fix the Wifi on the damn thing. It is such a pain in the ass just to connect to a free wifi service with a disclaimer like at the park or amtrak stations. I have to go to the settings and wifi settings then connect to the broadcast then go back to the web browser and then accept the terms of use for that station. It may not sound like much but when you used a android phone, iphone, ipad and a macbook air in the same places you see how much easier it should be. Also I still cant connect to my jobs wifi even though I have done it with all those devices.
well since its coming out next month im guessing:

I'd like to see:
PS1 support
PSOne support, some apps for the device to make it more interesting (and to make use of the processing power inside), decent content manager, an easier way of knowing how much memory is left on the card - that's a few to be getting on with !
It would be nice to see more psp titles, of course. One area I've noticed that its lacking though is the social aspect. When i send a message to my friend there is no way for him to know its there unless he has launched that application. I know online has never been Sony's strong point, but a system like the Vita demands it.
Gives us youtube or flash the browser sucks why even advertise it if its a big letdown

Full remote play and flasha nd HTML 5 video support and im set. I love my vita and that will make it perfect. Im dying to play dark souls on my couch lol while my grl watches tv!!!!!
Because Sony is stuck-up they don't use Adobe flash. They use some form of flash that is ALWYSE outdated. So don't hold your breath for flash. More psp games like Fat Princess and Resistance would be nice. Plus I hope they fix this keyboard and browser glitch. It keeps sending me to the top of the page. Sent from my PS Vita Browser!

i feel there is a lot that needs updating software wise. it seems almost ancient at times.. we need folders on the home screens and preferably a separate place for "all apps" so you don't have to have certain things you don't use on your home screens. (like android) it seems strange that in this day and age u need to connect it to a pc to manage your content so id like to see that change although i haven't looked at using media through my ps3 yet can you save things like music and files etc from ur ps3 to ps vita wire free? regardless some kind of cloud service would be great its such a powerful device but doesn't seem to take advantage of its power with the exception of great games. sku go would be absolutely wonderful but im probably dreaming its not even on ps3 yet and its probs sky we have to ask for that :) but on the subject of apps etc. there arent very many... i know its early days but can we expect to see a lot more apps like an android or ios device? there are many great apps that would be very useful the ps store itself could use a make over it seems a bit of a chor navigating around it especially once many more kinds of apps come to the device if they do?
i hope it have Flash/HTML Video,(something tht lets me watch videos), Killzone Liberation for PSP as a PSP Legacy game, nd fix the issue tht the PS3 doesnt show when PS Viita players are online. Thts it!

i see everybody talking about html 5 and flash video streaming on the browser. How about allowing the system to do multi-tasking. Why shutdown a game or an app to navigate on the Internet or to post something on twitter or FB? I think that would be a huge plus! And how about themes for the GUI ( being able to add live wallpapers, wallpapers, new icons with different shapes and stuff i mean if the theme is from uncharted then shape the 3d icons as artifacts from the game, etc, I just want to have the ability to personalize the GUI), being able to change the background music on both the home screen and ps store, compatibility with all ps games from 1-3, and finally allow full support for remote play and please stop the 24hr wait for protected content on the Cloud, im not paying 50 a year to be restricted ;) Thank You! :)
u can i got The Walking Dead as my backround (best show ever!!!!!!) nd Little Big Planet as the lock screen. jus google search it. Ndthey need 2 fix the browser. 2 things, it glitchs the screen up when im writing nd Adobe Flash thing. Its importent! I dont have a smart phone nd i nvr will, but i use this as my moble web browser/ regular browser. Lol i forget 2 mention i dont have a computer. So anyway thts y they need 2 fix it. They would get more sales if u could use the web browser instead of resorting to ur smartphone. But thts jus my opinion, nd a good one in fact!!! Oh nd im writing this from my Vita.

PsV can run all psp games, But you need to have a ps3 to transfer the ones that arent on the list.
Funny thing is, you can use remote play with all ps1 games via ps3
I thought the trouble was that it just has problems running select psp titles and that they're fixing that problem? Don't get me wrong, I'm no expert as I have no psp games to play on it currently, but that was my understanding. Also, PS1 classics...without remote play! That's what I want O_o

WRONG! It cannot run but a fraction of the psp library...and SONy is pretty sketchy on when(if) that will ever happen. Which is insulting given that being a PLUS member they give you free psp games often...to do what with?
